Be Mine.

NAME: Lee Sungjong
BAND: Infinite
LJ: [personal profile] troublemade
AIM: #evolvingdawn

NICKNAME(S): Lee (easier for foreigners to say), Jongie
AGE: 60
SPECIES: Fey (Unseelie)
POWERS/ABILITIES: Possible immortality, or perhaps just delayed aging (he's not sure either way); glamour (certainly his strongest ability, often used to make himself seem less like a fey when one of those pesky hunters is around, or at the massage parlor), faster and stronger than he looks to be, supernatural endurance (he can and has run long distances without feeling out of breath at all), harmony with nature (only to the extent that plants will move out of his way), telepathy (extremely weak; he can make small things move a few inches).
AFFILIATIONS: Miadong Massage, Sanctuary

HISTORY: Sungjong remembers little of the world from when he was young, a bright blue eyed boy living with a family in Gangnam. Fey kidnappings usually led to a wooden figured enchanted to look like the child in question left behind, but when a newly born fey had parents in both Seelie and Unseelie courts, there was little else to be done. Sungjong became more aware of himself as he matured, of the way his body reacted to iron that hadn't been treated with heat, four-leaf clovers, and any kind of bread. The sound of a church bell always drove him to a headache that lingered for days, and he'd become something of an accidental bully, given how fast he was, how he seemed to hit harder than other boys his age despite just wanting to mess around or play a practical joke. They always seemed to go too far.

By the time Sungjong graduated high school, he'd decided it was best to keep to himself as much as he could. His grades and family connections would have guaranteed him a spot in any college he wanted, but he opted to take a job instead. He worked to stock things in a grocery store at night, tended to finish his section of the store faster than other employees. One night, he noticed that the jars of kimchi seemed to jump into his grasp. That certainly wasn't normal, but he didn't think anything of it. Not until the summer of 2012.

His parents, a politician and a businesswoman, were disgusted to know that vampires existed. While he said nothing of his suspicions that he wasn't human, he took the opportunity to move out, into a small studio apartment by the store he worked at. He made enough to support himself and go shopping for things that caught his eye now and then, which came in handy when, three years later, people- human and monster alike- started to take sides. Sungjong met another fey on his way home in the pre-dawn light, with bright purple eyes and a shock of pale hair. Instinctively, they both just knew what the other was.

After befriending the fey woman, who took him under her proverbial wing, he announced his status to his family. They didn't take it well, and he was not surprised that his father publicly denounced him in his next campaign speech. He emptied his bank account and packed what he could in a knapsack, lived on the run with the fey woman. Neither of them can afford to leave Seoul, much less South Korea as a country, but they get by. They continue to live like that for ten years, until the monsters who want to live normal lives band together. Sungjong was more than happy to join despite his instincts to cause trouble, but nothing he said to the woman he'd spent so much time with and come to love could change her mind. Three months later he heard about her death on the news, shot repeatedly in the midst of an attempted robbery.

Sungjong withdrew even more, lived either with a vampire clan who found his blood delicious, or weres he could roughhouse with and be evenly matched. Things are monotonous, really, despite the intermittent attacks from bounty hunters or the Pure; Sungjong used his glamour to pass as human, and he managed to vanish without a trace every time. He registered himself as a citizen when given the opportunity, and was happy to find that there was nothing on it to specifically mark him as a fey. He took a job in Miari when it was named the monster district, got himself an apartment nearby once he could afford it.

After the attack on Big's, he moved further into the district and, with a bit of training, began to work at Miadong Massage. His glamour lets him appear however a customer wants, as long as they're explicit with their requests before a session, though his eyes are always the same. He didn't need to hide what he was there. He started to crave a more normal profession, though, and when he began to work at Sanctuary just six months ago. He works at Miadong only on weekends, now, and at the diner the rest of the week.

It was at the diner that he met a psychic who intrigued him. They're friends, but she seems to think he's teasing when he calls her 'pet.' He adores her and would do just about anything for her, and already has. He saved her from a table of monster customers who wanted to... "have some fun" with her, by telling her to hide in the back, and he glamoured himself to look like her. He was pale and a bit weak when he showed up for work the next day, but she would have been much worse off.

He plays small pranks on the other employees at the diner, though they can never stay mad at him, and sometimes monster customers. Does tricking vampires and weres get him into trouble? Oh, certainly. But Sungjong wouldn't have it any other way.
